Hampton University is now building a new precinct and traffic office on the campus. The office is located adjacent to the old traffic and police department at HU.Tony Whiting, the carpenter working on the new area, was at work just 15 minutes ago on his third day of the job. He mentioned there would be a one-stalled men’s bathroom as well as a one-stalled female’s bathroom in the new traffic area. Whiting was working on the baseline board tiles and hanging bathroom fixtures.
How would this new change affect students next year when they went to get decals for their vehicles or new stickers for student I.D. cards?
“I don’t think it’s going to affect students anymore than it did before. Nobody knows it exists,” Terrance Lovelady, senior finance major said.
He isn’t the only one who feels this way. Campus police are also going to be affected in the building change as the old building will be now housing a new office and more work space.

“I don’t think there will be a negative affect. It will be positive. One of the reasons for doing the renovation in the fall was so that when student registered, they wouldn’t be waiting outside. There will be space in the office for ladies to work.”
The transformation for HUPD and HU traffic seems to be a positive move on the students and on the staff.
