Lights, Camera, Action

SHSJC event planning class is underway preparing for their last event of the year. Thursday, April 17 will be the "I See You": A reflection of you film festival. The show begins at 5pm and is conjoined effort between Event Management Inc., and the Center for Broadcast Excellence.

The idea for the film festival came from the mind of Hampton senior Terrance Dawkins. "The idea just came to me and now here with are with flyers and everything," he said.

Dawkins an advertising major from Spartanburg, S.C., plans on submitting a few films of his own. "We're just hoping for a really good turn out".

The shows host, Hampton University junior Morgan Anderson, hopes the same thing. "We've got a grade riding on this event, so everyone is hoping it turns out great."

Anderson, a public relations major from Philadelphia, P.A., explains the preparation that goes into a Event Management Inc., event. "It's really a lot of work. There are several committees doing everything from previewing films, taking care of catering, to securing a venue."

The deadline to submit short films, documentaries, and videos is April 4. There is no entry fee and the show is open to all Hampton University students.
